D.M: To answer Paul’s as-yet-unread question, this song started off with a musical sketch by me which he turned into a gem. Great percussion, and I love his hushing sounds. Very pleased with the closing piano melody and the overall eeriness of the choir.
Of that whole genre of songs mentioning shoes on hands - one of my favourite subjects - this is probably joint first with “Doggies Sport Spats When Sombreros Are Worn By Cats” by Ken Tortion & The Swastika Deckchairs.

P.H: With most songs, the listener can detect the provenance, the starting point, the genesis, but this one has even me puzzled as to what kickstarted it. Was it some musical doodling by Doug or the words wot I done writ? Without digging through the archives it’s impossible for me to say. It’s a glowing flowing track. I particularly like my bicycle pump substituting for a hi-hat.
Most albums tend to sag a bit in the middle and that is why it’s always been my firm belief that the very best song should be placed pretty much dead centre in the running order, and here it is. Hole in one!
